Alex D. Ivan (Flagstaff)is a Colorado native who graduated with his B.A. in both economics and political science summa cum laude from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Afterward, he moved to Arizona and taught high school English for grades 10–12 at Imagine Preparatory at Superstition in Apache Junction. During his time in the classroom, he pursued his M.Ed. in secondary education from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. Seeking additional ways to positively affect public education, he matriculated to the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he earned his J.D. in 2015. While in law school, he sought opportunities to serve the people of Arizona. He has worked at the Arizona Department of Education, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Arizona Education Association, and Arizona State Senate Rules Office. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Arizona, within the Navajo Nation, and he is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He joined Hufford, Horstman, Mongini, Parnell & Tucker P.C. in November 2015. His practice focuses primarily on public schools, specifically with respect to special education and employment law issues.
